To print this page: right click it and choose print

For this project you will need to obtain a range of leaflets and pamphlets about drugs. You might be able to get some through your school or college and from local Drug Advice Services (see Project 5). You may also want to check out some of the many websites providing drug information. See the Resources section below.

Other organisations which produce drug leaflets include:

HIT in Liverpool produce two sets of drug postcards. You may have to pay for them. Telephone 0870 990 9702

DrugScope publish a series of booklets on different drugs. You will have to pay for them. Telephone 020 7928 1211

Lifeline in Manchester produce many drug leaflets, some of which are cartoon-based. You may have to pay for them.
Telephone 0161 839 2075

TACADE produce a series of leaflets about drugs. Again you will have to pay for them. Telephone 0161 836 6850.

Once you have collected a range of different leaflets look at them and decide:

one Who are they aimed at?
two What information is given about different drugs?
three What are the key messages about drugs?
four How different and similar are the information given in the leaflets?
five What do you think of the design and the way the information are presented?
six How accurate are information given about drugs?
seven How well are the leaflets suited to their target audience?
eight Which do you think is the best and worst leaflet and why?

Write a report of your findings in your project book. You might also show the leaflets to other people (fellow students, teachers, parents) and ask them what they think of them.
