at smoking information
|

For
this project you will need to obtain a range of leaflets and pamphlets
about smoking. You might be able to get some through your school or college
and from local libraries. You may also want to look at some smoking related
websites.
Organisations that can be useful in providing information or leaflets
on smoking, tobacco advertising controls and health include:
ASH
is a charity that produces many leaflets and publications on smoking and
public health. You may have to pay for them.
Telephone 020 7739 5902
QUIT
provides information on smoking and health issues. You can find specific
material on young people on their website or
Telephone 020 7251 1551
NATIONAL TOBACCO CAMPAIGN is a NHS
smoking helpline. They could provide useful statistics. Telephone 0800
169 0 169
Once you have collected a range of different information and leaflets
look at them and decide:
 |
Who
are they aimed at? |
 |
What
information is given about smoking? |
 |
What
are the key messages about smoking? |
 |
How
different and similar are the information given? |
 |
What
do you think of the design and the way the information are presented? |
 |
How
accurate are information given? |
 |
How
well are the leaflets/information suited to their target audience? |
 |
Which
do you think is the best and worst leaflet and why? |
Write a report of your findings in your project book. You might also show
the leaflets and findings to other people (fellow students, teachers,
parents) and ask them what they think of them.
